Welcome to Dongmakgol (웰컴투 동막골) is a 2005 South Korean film set during the Korean War. It was South Korea's official entry for the foreign language film category of the Academy Awards in 2005, and as of 2005 it was the fourth-highest grossing South Korean movie of all time. It was the debut film of director Park Kwang-hyun and stars Shin Ha-kyun, Jeong Jae-yeong and Kang Hye-jeong.
The story is set in Korea during the Korean War in 1950. Soldiers from both the North and South, as well as an American pilot, find themselves in a secluded and naively idealistic village, its residents unaware of the outside world, including the war.
The movie is based on the long running play by Jang Jin.
